Closer Came the Light is a recommended release over at the Boomkat...
**Includes 'Should We Make It Through The Night / Wayside' bonus CD** Anthony Harrison presents his fifth album of kosmische improv as Konntinent. It's the follow-up to his 'Opal Island' LP of 2010 and was recorded in the "mad London heat of summer" in the same year. 'Only Daughter' opens the album with spiralling synth arpeggios wrapped in a cosmic helix to guitar playing reminding of Emeralds Mark McGuire, and drifting, diffuse vocals from Lisa Maddison. Next 'Zentrum' and 'Hi Res' are noisier and more dissonant, shapeless and free. 'Buddy' contains some deliciously fat synth brass delivered with a Vangelis-like sophistication, and 'Sonority Syntax' departs at a wonderfully psychedelic peak comparable with Godlen Retriever or any of the American lot. Lush.
